Technology in Laos
It was not meant to be a trip filled with technology, however, through our association with Mashpee school and their support of the Laos children this Laos journey has seen us working with technology including;
1) Skype and Touchjet- this is our connection with the students from Mashpee who are working in their Design Makerspace and were given the brief ' Can you design an object to change the live of the Laos children/community?". A daunting task for anyone but these students accepted the challenge.
2) 3 D Printing - we had a 3D printer donated and so we have given workshops in the Luang Prabang Library to help the Laos community to use 3D printer. This was initially to help us to create the objects that the Mashpee children designed but representatives from the local libraries, schools and University are all engaged in the new technology.
3) VR Headsets - accidentally included these have been changing the way the Laotian children experience new ideas.
4) 360 Video Capture - this clever new idea enables immersive experiences and we have been capturing the experiences for Australian and US students.
